Flat Plate Fittings are primarily used to join sections of Unistrut Channel together
Within the Unistrut Metal Framing System there are many different categories of parts, each with their own function, this week we’ll discuss Unistrut Flat Plate Fittings.
You may have heard Unistrut flat plate fittings referred to as 'Splice Plates'. That is because their primary use is to join – or splice – channel sections together.
Flat plate fittings are sheared from 1/4" thick plate steel and punched with 9/16" holes. Splice plates are ideally joined to sections of strut using 1/2" hex head cap screws and 1/2" spring nuts (or other variety of Unistrut channel nut), for a unique, weldless connection.
As with all Unistrut fittings, flat plate fittings

Unistrut is Available in Special Metals: Stainless Steel and Aluminum!
Unistrut channel is offered in a variety of finishes, with a variety of hole styles and in a variety of lengths and gauges, but did you know that we also carry special metals? Aside from the standard Unistrut, you can also get channels that are stainless steel and aluminum. Each of these special metals has unique applications so let's break it down.
Why Choose Stainless Steel?
Our stainless steel channels are offered for the following series: P1000, P1000T, P1001, P1001T as well as the same variations for the P3300, P4100 and P5000 series. Concrete Inserts Create a Permanent Steel Framework of Support
Concrete Inserts are used in concrete poured walls, floors, ceilings, foundations and pre-cast culverts. Unistrut concrete inserts offer a fully-engineered solution, integrating steel channel and parts, to create a cast-in-place concrete framework. This framework provides superior strength and durability to your system.
Installation
Unistrut Concrete Inserts are mounted into place prior to pouring concrete. The steel framework is cemented into place, as the concrete hardens, thus providing a permanent solution.
Inserts are firmly attached to the concrete side of the form prior to pouring. When the forms are removed, the insert is ready for use. Brackets and other components are now ready to connect to the embedded steel frameworks to create light structural support.

See How A Customer Used Unistrut Fittings To Build Shelves In Their Garage
We recently had a customer from Salt Lake City, Utah place an order for P2484 Unistrut 7-Hole 90° Angle Fitting for a custom shelving unit that they were installing in their garage. Using his previous experience as a contractor for manufacturing facilities, our customer was given the inspiration to create the shelving units after seeing the numerous applications for Unistrut Channel and Unistrut Fittings.
"Unistrut Channel is an amazingly versatile product and with a little bit of creativity, you can build or mount just about anything with it."

See How Telespar Was Used To Make A Hunting Stand
Unlike Telespar telescoping tubing, which is specially designed and used for sign post applications, Telespar mechanical tubing can be used for industrial applications and a wide variety of weekend DIY projects. Below is a case study of how one of our customers took a simple wooden hunting stand design and recreated it by using Telespar mechanical tubing and Grip Strut Grating.
A One-of-a-Kind Hunting Stand
Our customer wanted to build a tree stand for hunting that would be heavy duty and could withstand the elements. Rather than using wood though,

DIY Unistrut Racks For A Perfect Storage Solution
We recently moved our Rooftop Support Systems (RTS) assembly and welding stations to the back corner of our new warehouse and because of this move, we needed a shelving system that could hold all of our Unistrut inventory and components that we use to build our rooftop systems. Our RTS assembler took some measurements and began sketching out a design for a set of Unistrut racks that were 8 feet tall and 10 feet wide. He then gathered all the necessary Unistrut channel, fittings and hardware and assembled three Unistrut racks. Below are the materials used along with the final design of the

As part of an ongoing effort to optimize product offerings and streamline the Unistrut Metal Framing product line, Unistrut has chosen to discontinue a number of products that are no longer in demand for most typical applications. This allows the company to maintain a sharp focus on production of the products that customers truly need, as well as shift some of their attention to the innovation of new products.
Unistrut part number "AEROSPRAY GR" is green touch-up paint used on cosmetic scratches to Perma-Green finish parts and channel. Unfortunately, due to difficulties in sourcing and transporting the aerosol spray-paint, as well as concerns about the limited shelf-life of the product, it became necessary to discontinue selling it. The good news is that a suitable replacement can be obtained from most local hardware stores.

Cush a Clamp Surpasses the Performance of Traditional Pipe Clamps
Cush a Clamp, as the name implies, is a cushioned pipe clamp. The cushion insert, which traditional pipe clamps lack, dampens shock and vibration, as well as prevents galvanic corrosion. The insert is made out of thermoplastic elastomer, which helps to extend the life of your pipe support system. The highly durable
