The SPANWARE™ IMP Anchor System was specifically designed for attaching Food Grade Strut®, as well as other industrial components, to insulated metal walls and ceilings of the type that are commonly found in food processing facilities.
Use Food Grade IMP Fasteners for Easy Attachment to Insulated Panels
IMP Wall Anchors Provide the Best Mounting Solution for Insulated Metal Panels
Food Grade Solutions has recently developed a line of IMP Anchor Assemblies that are the perfect sanitary mounting solution for insulated metal panels (IMP's).
Insulated metal panels are typically comprised of a thick middle layer of polystyrene or polyeurethane insulation sandwiched between two layers of epoxy coated, galvanized steel. While providing a sturdy, cost effective solution for the food processing industry, IMP's do present certain mounting and fastening challenges. Thankfully, the design of the IMP Anchor Assembly flawlessly addresses these challenges. IMP Assemblies provide a fool proof method of safely and effectively securing sanitary components to insulated metal panel, without causing damage to the panel.
IMP anchors are constructed of Delrin, Buna-N rubber with food grade stainless steel hardware components.

Only common tools are needed to secure IMP Anchors to your panel and create a snug, watertight, and sanitary attachment. The installation procedure is easy and straightforward, just take a look at the easy-to-follow steps below:
- Use a 1-1/8" diameter hole saw to drill through only the first steel panel and do not continue drilling into the poly core, or through to the second steel lamination.
- Insert the threaded screw section of the anchor into the hole and screw into the panel until the barbs of the castellated ferrule snap into place, just beyond the first steel lamination.
- Push the 3/8" x 2" stainless steel cap screw through the stainless steel flat washer, then through the flange of the item being attached to the wall, then through the wall spacer, the gasketed thrust washer, and finally into the threaded screw section that you have already mounted in the panel.
- Tighten the bolt to 4 ft*lbs. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the assembly. Over tightening will cause fastener/substrate failure and will compromise load bearing capabilities.
